Charitable Giving Through Your Estate
Incorporating charitable donations in your estate plan is a wonderful way to create your legacy, and advance planning can help ensure that you achieve the most tax savings available while meeting your charitable goals. A couple of the most common ways are:
Bequest in your will or revocable trust.
Name a charity as the beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy.
Options for including charitable giving within your estate plan are varied, and your attorney will help you determine which makes the most sense for you and your estate.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
A QCD directly transfers funds from your IRA custodian, payable to a qualified charity. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year as long as specific rules are met. Contact your financial advisor to learn more about this increasingly popular giving method.
Event and Program Sponsorships
Each year, we offer sponsorships for our community events and programming. By sponsoring these annual events and programs, your organization, company, or foundation supports our work while you receive recognition for your generosity.
